Claudio Mariani was born in Bologna in 1942. After attending the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts, he began his career devoting himself to advertising graphics and finally to painting. He was awarded the Venturoli Prize and he was commissioned to create a mural for the town of Gambettola. He taught pictorial art decoration at the Bologna Institute of Arts.
His works can be found in many public and private collections in Rome, Paris, Florence and Milan.
